Weeknote 20/33

I just read this morning that Hamburg is experiencing the longest heatwave since the beginning of temperature recordings in 1891.

I can only imagine how tough it must have been for Matze and Lena to sit in a tiny (non-airconditioned) room for about 10 hours, interviewing people. Luckily, I could watch the whole thing streaming live from home, where the temperature was a little more bearable. Plus, I didn’t have to do any talking. I just had to take notes and occasionally feed the interviewers some questions via text-chat.

It’s been a while since I was involved with research interviews. I read reports or watched presentations about the findings, but being involved from start to finish reminded me how much I enjoy it. It satisfies my general sense of curiosity about everything.

This whole research session was not just insightful for the current project I’m working on. I also learned something for a very special research project which will happen soon.
